Hodgson Sealants Silfix U9 Silicone – Clear 310ml

Silfix U9 is a premium quality, low modulus, neutral cure silicone sealant widely regarded as one of the best in its class. Conforming to BS 5889 Type A and ISO11600 G-25-LM, it offers excellent performance across a broad range of glazing, roofing, and construction applications. It bonds exceptionally well to glass, timber, brickwork, concrete, metal, and plastics – often without the need for a primer.

Ideal for sealing and capping glass and insulating glass units in bead glazing systems. Also suitable for sealing joints between GRP panels, trims, flashings, PVCu, aluminium, timber frames, roofing and cladding systems, and other general construction and industrial uses.

• Application temperature range: +5°C to +40°C
• Curing rate: Approximately 2mm in 24 hours at 23°C @ 60% RH

Surface Preparation & Application:

 Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from frost, grease, and loose material. Use a primer if required for certain substrates. Where a neat finish is required, masking tape should be applied to the edges of the joint and removed immediately after tooling.

Cut the tip of the screw thread off the cartridge and attach the nozzle. Cut the nozzle to the desired bead size and apply using a skeleton or powered gun. Ensure the sealant makes good contact with both surfaces. In deep joints, Hodgson Backing Rod is recommended to ensure correct joint depth and shape.

Tooling: Tool the sealant immediately after application within the stated working time for a clean, professional finish.
